Firefighters! Fire truck!! Ambulance!! Sirens!!!
These are very common encounters our EV had at Ambassador Housing Village. Even though we have emphasized fire safety during their housing orientation, why not hear it from the experts themselves?
We held our first-ever Fire & Fury event on March 21st, 2023 in partnership with the Williamsburg Fire Department. The EVs had the chance to meet our local firefighters and EMTs and were able to share valuable safety information. The firefighters gave our EVs the chance to see the actual tools and equipment used when they are out saving lives. EVs were even able to try on a firefighter suit, got checked in the ambulance, and climb into the fire truck itself!
Advocating fire safety and awareness plays an important part in this program, especially in our housing facility. By making it more fun and interactive, especially since fire safety procedures vary from each country, the Williamsburg Fire Department made the experience informative and engaging while inviting the EVs to ask questions and learn more.
Through this event not only were we were able to disseminate valuable information, but also create a sense of camaraderie between the EVs, firefighters, and EMTS which we hope will result in fewer incidents as well as meaningful experiences and information that they can share to their friends, families, and community back home.
Before the event ended, the Williamsburg Fire Department received an emergency call and we were able to witness first-hand how firefighters gear up and respond to their call of duty. We hope that this helped the EVs a better understanding and a deeper appreciation of the work that our firefighters and EMTs do daily.
We had such a great turnout for our very first Fire & Fury event and we will continue to hold this event in the future.
